Privacy Policy

The short version: PolyPDF runs entirely on your device. We don't operate servers that receive your documents, we don't have user accounts, and we don't collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your files never leave your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to share or back them up.

1. Who we are

This policy describes how the PolyPDF iOS and iPadOS application ("PolyPDF", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. PolyPDF is a PDF editor powered by our in-house PolyPDFKit engine, which performs all editing locally on your device.

2. Information we do not collect

PolyPDF is designed to be private by architecture, not just by policy. The app does not require an account and does not include analytics or advertising SDKs. Specifically, we do not collect:

The contents of your PDFs or any documents you open, edit, scan, or annotate.
Names, email addresses, or other account information — there is no sign-up.
Behavioral analytics, usage tracking, or advertising identifiers.
Your location.

3. Your documents stay on your device

All PDF viewing, text editing, annotation, markup, scanning, and page management happen on device. PolyPDFKit does not transmit your documents to us or to any third party. The app functions fully offline.

4. iCloud backup (optional)

If you enable iCloud backup, your documents may be stored in your own private iCloud account so they're available across your devices. This data is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us. You can turn iCloud backup off at any time in the app or in your device's iCloud settings.

5. The camera (document scanning)

PolyPDF can scan documents using your device camera. Camera access is used solely to capture images that become pages in your PDF, processed entirely on device. Scanned images are not sent anywhere. iOS will ask for your permission before the camera is used; you can revoke it any time in Settings.

6. Sharing & export

When you choose to share or export a document, iOS hands the file to the destination you pick (Mail, Files, another app, etc.). What happens to the file after that is governed by the privacy policy of the service or app you selected. PolyPDF only initiates the share you explicitly request.

7. Children's privacy

PolyPDF does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and post the revised policy on this page.
